Operation Outpour is asking you to Partner with Us!

We are so excited to share with everyone all of the exciting things that have been happening. Our biggest announcement is changing our focus from individual child sponsorship to YOU partnering with us. Our school is growing! God continues to bless us with the opportunity to serve more and more children and their families at Sorbonne Christian Academy. With this growth, our focus needs to be looking at the bigger picture in terms of securing more classrooms, building a secondary school and starting the urgent care clinic while never losing sight of keeping the highest possible standards. All of this is possible because of faithful & dedicated people who believe and support our mission. We cannot do this without you! We want to assure you that this new partnership relationship will keep you at the forefront of what is happening at the school. We are committed to keeping current information, pictures, updates, prayer requests, success stories, frustrations, heartbreak, ALL of it front and center with you.

With Heartfelt Gratitude,
Jenn Douma, Director & Founder

Praise & Worship Night

As most of you know, Ron Watson is our “man on the ground” at Sorbonne Christian Academy in Mirebalais, Haiti. He is Jenn’s trusted friend and partner who loves his country and his community. He is so excited for the future of our school and all of the children attending. Ron arrived in Wisconsin October 17th and after a little rest it was nonstop action. Operation Outpour hosted a Praise and Worship night at The Point Church and spent the evening focusing on five specific prayers. We would love it if you add these to your prayer life as well:

  • Prayer of Praise and Adoration to God
  • Prayer of Protection for Haiti: Ron, The School, Faculty, Students and their Families
  • Prayer of Proclamation. That the Gospel of Jesus Christ would spread through our mission efforts
  • Prayer of Provision: Resources for the Fulfillment of God’s Kingdom in our Midst and our Commitment and Dedication to the Mission.
  • Prayer for Ron and the Operation Outpour Team

Ron’s Visit Summary

Thursday: Arrived in Milwaukee and enjoyed a nice quiet evening catching up with Jenn and her family.

Friday: Spent the morning farming with friends and Ron actually drove a very large combine. Pastor Tim operated the grain cart while Greg Douma hitched a ride in the semi.

Enjoyed a nice lunch and then dinner with Operation Outpour’s Board of DIrectors to catch us up on everything related to current conditions of Haiti and the start of the new school year.

Saturday: Ron spent the morning with friends before heading to The Point Church for the Prayer & Worship Night (highlighted on Page 1)

Sunday: Jenn, Ron and Pastor Tim did a panel discussion in front of the congregation to share what is happening in Haiti and how the school is impacted by the gang activity. He emphasized over and over again the importance of education to the students at Sorbonne Christian Academy and the difference it makes in their lives. Education gives them a future!

Later that evening we were invited to a dear friend of Jenn’s whom invited many more friends to hear more about Operation Outpour.

Monday: Monday was a day of prayer, reflection and conversation to discuss the future growth of the school, what needs need to be met first, how to serve more kids and families, and how to make that all happen. God is good…..His blessings have been abundant and evident.

Let’s Have Some Fun!

An interview with Ron & Jenn

Question #1-When is your birthday?

Jenn-June 2nd, 1977

Ron– Sept 26th, 1981

Question #2-How many brother and sisters do you have?

Jenn-One Younger Brother-Lives near Jenn

Ron-Two Sisters that live in Florida and One brother who lives in Haiti

Question #3– Do you have children? What do they want to be when they grow up?

Jenn-yes, with our fosters we are at 7. Everything from a fire fighter to a mermaid to an astronaut and beyond.

Ron-yes, 1 daughter who wishes to attend Florida State and become an anesthesiologist.

Question #4- Who is someone you admire greatly and why?

Jenn-There are a handful of local foster moms that I get to do life with and I greatly admire them all. They are the hands and feet of Jesus answering the phone at 2:30am when a child needs a place to go.

Ron– My sister. She has had such a positive influence over me. We have a close connection. I consider her a superstar. She reminds me to always keep my priorities in the proper order. Family first.

Question #5- Favorite Holiday?

Jenn-Christmas!

Ron-Christmas! In Haiti, Christmas represents Love, Sharing, Forgiveness

Question #6– Favority Memory as a child?

Jenn– Snapping Green Beans with my Grandma Barker

Ron-Living in a 9 ft x9 ft house with no insulation and a metal roof with my siblings for 17 years. We had so much fun!

Question#7 -What is one thing you want people to know about Haiti?

Jenn-That people are so much more than a news story. Every time I hear about Haiti now it’s all gangs and violence, but that does NOT represent the true people of Haiti who I’ve met over the years. They are smart, hardworking and kind.

Ron-The love that our people still have despite the current situation. They are still laughing and teasing one another. We love to “push each other’s buttons” in a fun way.

Question #8– Where do you find your Hope?

Jenn-Knowing God is in control and even on my worst days He still loves me.

Ron– Jesus and my mom, Euclide aka “gramma”. She is retired now and enjoying her five grandkids but I’ll never forgot all she did for my siblings and me to make sure we had every opportunity by getting an education and knowing the Lord.
